Polonez News Canada commemorates Dr. August Franz Globensky on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the historic year 1776. He is remembered as one of the earliest Polish-born military figures connected with the history of Canada, recognized as “The Very First Polish Soldier in Canada.”

He served as a surgeon with a British auxiliary regiment during the American Revolutionary War — an early connection between Poland and North America, long before the major waves of Polish immigration to Canada. The commemoration was proclaimed by Marek Jozef D. Goldyn, Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Polonez News Canada, under the auspices of the European Club of Canada and the Goldyn Diplomatic Academy of Canada.
