On July 9, 2025, Small World Music and Lulaworld, in partnership with Drom Taberna, presented an electrifying night of Polish folk revival with Warsaw Village Band and opening act Polky.

Warsaw Village Band is one of Poland’s most recognizable folk groups, blending ancient Slavic sounds with bold modern energy. They use instruments like the baraban, dulcimer, hurdy-gurdy and biłgoraj suka, creating a raw, powerful sound enhanced by the white voices of three female vocalists. Over the past decade, Warsaw Village Band has redefined Polish folk music, bringing ancient melodies to life and sharing them with the world.

Polky, Toronto’s female-led folk ensemble, kicked off the evening with high-energy Eastern European tunes and global flair. “It truly takes a village to make nights like this happen, and we’re beyond grateful to be part of this beautiful, powerful community,” said Polky's leader, Ewelina Ferenc.

This unforgettable show was a pure fusion of heritage and modern influence — a perfect way to introduce Canadian audiences to the magic of Eastern European music.
